The Contemporary Shaman

Shamanic Fiction

Shamanic fiction is also called “living fiction.” It means you're not reading the same-old-same-old stories. These stories are coded with dynamic, powerful, transformative and healing intent. While spiritual in nature, these books are not a fictional exercise in preaching. On the contrary, the pulsating wisdom draws you into the story so that you forget that you are staying up way too late as you turn page after page. Once you have experienced living fiction, you want nothing else. I've been writing this kind of fiction for a decade and my readers love to shout from the rooftops: “It's Alive!” I offer four such novels below. Enjoy...

Mayden Chronicles

Mayden Chronicles

The Mayden Chronicles is a first-draft, chapter-by-chapter work of shamanic fiction. Written and posted--unedited--in real time, this blogsite also hosts videos from Robin about the creative writing process that went with each chapter. The intent was to help young writers (who would fall in love with the mutli-media aspect as well as the storyline) see that all writing starts out with a meager first draft! As it turned out, adults loved it just as much as teens! This story is now complete in first draft, and will be part of a three-book series. The Storyline: Julie Mayden is a wealthy, wild, and B–O–R–E–D 16 year old, until she meets two 88-year-old shapeshifting sisters who offer to teach her the Old Magic of their lineage. Have two hot great-grandsons and a family talent for shapeshifting into wild animals only sweetens the lure. With both magic and wisdom, Old Bea and Miss Anna teach Mayden more than she could ever have dreamed possible. But at what cost? To read “The Mayden Chronicles” (free online), Click Here.
